​Stinger Wins Dong Energy Contract in Danish Sector

Specialised underwater robotics technology is to be developed and offshore subsea operations provided by Stinger Technology AS under a contract awarded by Dong Energy.

The contract includes environmental sampling and inspection inside the Siri platform’s oil storage tank. Engineering and planning starts in March, with offshore campaigns planned for this summer and autumn.

Siri is located in block 5604/20 in the north-western part of Denmark’s North Sea sector, about 220 kilometres from the Danish coast. The Siri platform came on stream in 1999. DONG Energy is 100% licence holder of the Siri licence. The Siri platform is also host for the nearby Nini, Nini East, Cecilie and Stine fields. The storage tank measures 50 x 66 metres and is 17.5 metres high, with a designed storage volume of 50 000 cubic metres. It is split internally into 16 compartments, some of which are only accessible through a 10-inch jumper pipe.
