Myklebust Verft has signed its fourth well boat contract with Sølvtrans Rederi in Ålesund.

Wednesday 5 February 2020

The vessel is based on Kongsberg NVC 389 and is of the same design that Sølvtrans's all-owner ship has under construction at Myklebust. The load capacity is 4000 m³. This hull will also be built at the Turkish shipyard Hat-San. Delivery of what will be building no. 76 from Myklebust Verft is the contractual agreement until October 2021.

- Myklebust Verf are proud to succeed with several contracts for Sølvtrans. It gave us great opportunities to, in combination with all the actors involved, exploit positive synergies and learning from project to project, says daily tenant at Myklebust Verft, Inge-Jonny Hide. The contract also entails many deliveries from a number of local companies, the largest of which are Kongsberg Maritime, MMC FIRST PROCESS and Hareid Group.

- Myklebust Verf are experiencing a positive market for this 4000-cubic series that we have contracted with Myklebust and for us we find the quality we are hunting for locally, says Sjerv and managing director of Silver Trans, Roger Halsebakk.

- The contract goes well with the strategy Myklebust has chosen by building more vessels for the same customer with known technology and design. There is also a great statement of confidence from Sparebanken Møre that they provide construction financing for enough new construction at Myklebust Verft, says Hide.

With this contract, Myklebust has an order backlog of about NOK 1 billion within newbuilding and aftermarket. The yard has 135 own employees.
