WorleyParsons Gains Maria Gig

Thursday 6 October 2016

Rosenberg WorleyParsons has secured work to build subsea structures and flowlines for Wintershall’s Maria field project off Norway under a sub-contract with Subsea 7.

The deal will provide employment for around 25 personnel at the Norwegian yard, which is part of Australia’s WorleyParsons group, according to a release. No value was disclosed for the award.

It marks the second award for Rosenberg on the Norwegian Sea field that is being developed by the German operator as a three-way subsea tieback to the Heidrun, Kristin and Aasgard B platforms at an estimated cost of Nkr15.3 billion ($1.9 billion) and is due on stream in the fourth quarter of 2018.

UK-based Subsea 7 has earlier netted a $300 million contract for installation of subsea flowlines and facilities at the field.
