Thursday 6 October 2016

Fugro and CGG joint venture company, Seabed Geosolutions, has landed a contract with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) for work on the Ghasha field in the Persian Gulf.

Under the deal, Seabed Geosolutions will handle a shallow-water seabed survey over the second phase of the Ghasha project.

The $60 million contract is due to start in October and is expected to take approximately nine months.

The joint venture company previously worked on the Hail, Shuweihat and, last year, on the first phase of the Ghasha surveys.

“Over the past years and thanks to a close co-operation with Adnoc, our shallow-water crew has been setting new safety, data quality and efficiency standards for shallow-water and transition zone surveys, allowing for cost effective acquisition of large surveys,” Seabed Geosolutions chief executive Stephan Midenet said.

Earlier this week Adnoc announced it was consolidating its offshore operations by merging the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Opco) and Zakum Development Company (Zadco) as joint ventures with foreign partners.

Adnoc has a 60% holding in each company. The joint venture partners in Adma-Opco are BP, Jodco and Total. The partners in Zadco are ExxonMobil and Jodco.
