Wednesday 5 December 2018

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Equinor Energy AS a drilling permit for well 35/11-22 S, cf. Section 15 of the Resource Management Regulations.

Well 35/11-22 S will be drilled from the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility in position 61°5'2.27"N and 3°20'56.92"E after completing the drilling of wildcat well 6407/11-1 for Equinor Energy AS in production licence 751.

The drilling programme for well 35/11-22 S relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production licence 248 C. Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 30 per cent. The other licensees are Petoro (40 per cent) and Wellesley Petroleum AS (30 per cent).

The area in this licence consists of the southwestern part of block 35/11. The well will be drilled about 9 kilometres west of the Fram field and about 100 kilometres west-northwest of Mongstad.

Production licence 248 C was carved out from production licence 248 on 9 April 2013. This is the second well to be drilled in the licence.

The permit is contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
