Ørsted, the leading offshore wind developer, has signed a contract with Dorset-based Manor Renewable Energy (MRE) Ltd to provide the full temporary power package of generators, personnel and vessels in case of need during the turbine installation and commissioning for Hornsea Project One.

Commencing in January 2019, MRE would utilise their own multi-purpose vessel, the ‘Manor Venture’, to lead their project scope; with an onboard capacity of 40 tonnes and accommodation for 12 personnel.

The vessel has been manufactured in Portland, UK and the generators provided by UK company, JCB.

Hornsea Project One will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world when operational in 2020. Based 120km off the Yorkshire Coast, this record-breaking wind farm will be capable of supplying renewable electricity to well over one million homes.
